If you cannot go through the hassles of getting a tester to check all your antique glassware then store them for future reference but if you must use them, do not use them as often as the rest of your everyday glassware and do not store drink or water in them for long so that lead does not leach into your drink or water
DOES COLORED GLASS CONTAIN LEAD?
You may be shocked to find out that the unusual taste in your drinking water, is not because your water is polluted but because the paint on your glass cup has for some reason, washed into your water.
Colored glasses contain lead but not all colored glasses are unsafe to drink from. The glasses that adopted their color from the manufacturing process are considered solid and these glasses stand a lower risk of leaching because of the processes that led to the actualization of these colors.
